The Children's Legal Centre has many years of experience in providing legal advice and representation to children, their carers and professionals throughout the UK. It opened in 1981, as the major UK project for the International Year of the Child, and is staffed by lawyers and professionals with experience in child law. The Centre is funded by grants from Central Government and by charitable trusts. The Young People’s Freephone Line enables young people to access free advice and information. An advisor can be contacted on 0800 783 2187. The Child Law Advice Line provides free legal advice and information covering all aspects of law and policy affecting children. An advisor can be contacted on 08088 020 008. The advice line is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. The Children's Legal Centre works with the Community Legal Advice Line to provide free legal advice and information on education matters. The CLA can also provide advice on benefits, tax credits, debt, employment, housing and family issues. If you are looking for advice on education call an advisor on 0845 345 4345 and follow the instructions. The advice line is open from 9.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. |
