| The government are currently consulting with the public on the green paper for SEN and Disability. “Support and aspiration: A new approach to special educational needs and disability” makes wide-ranging proposals to respond to the frustrations of children and young people, their families and the professionals who work with them.
The Hampshire Parent Voice Forum are hosting a short consultation with Steve Crocker, Deputy Director of Children’s Services to address the key points of the paper and collate the views of all parents to send from the local authority collectively. The meeting will take place at Winchester Guildhall on Friday 13th May from 11-1pm.
This meeting will be specifically about the Green paper and not a ‘general feedback’ session, therefore you will need to read the green paper before hand, which can be found online at the below link- if you need a hard copy please call 02380 721206. http://www.education.gov.uk/publications/standard/publicationDetail/Page1/CM%208027 . We understand that the paper is quite long; however we would request that you read thoroughly any aspects on which you would like to feedback.
All Parent Voice members are welcome to this meeting. If you cannot attend but still want to have your say, please contact me directly with any views and I will ensure that these are passed on. Lucyfripp@roseroad.org.uk / 02380 721206
The vision set out in the Green Paper is informed by the views and expertise of families, teachers, local authorities, health professionals and national and local organisations working with them.
Spaces will be limited, so please book your place by calling Lucyfripp@roseroad.org.uk / 02380 721206
