What We Do:

Nicky Brown has set up an indoor rock climbing program designed especially for children with additional needs e.g. Behaviour problems, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Asperger’s and children on the Autistic Spectrum. This program features one-on-one attention and encouragement where each child climbs at their own pace.

The Program is designed to help children:

Develop positive recreation skills

Increase muscle tone and motor skills

Develop trust and relationship building skills

Increase self-esteem and empowerment

Promote independence, health and wellness

Enjoy themselves in a safe and controlled Environment.

Thanks to funding from Inspiring You sessions reduced to £10 per child for a 45 minute climbing session each child will be entitled to 4 sessions at the discounted rate.

Many Children with Additional Needs have difficulties processing sensory information. Rock climbing is a one stop therapeutic shop! It is very tactile, both in the holds and in the texture of the walls. The holds are brightly coloured with different shapes so are visually stimulating.

It can help to develop balance and spatial body awareness as well as improve overall muscle tone and fine and gross motor skills.

Rock climbing also encourages; problem-solving skills, independent thinking and can even help improve behaviour.
